Numerology - definition

Numerology is a discipline that studies the influence of numbers on our lives and our choices. She uses various methods to analyze numbers and understand the characteristics of a person.

Definition
Numerology, also known as number science or number theory, is a discipline that studies the properties and meanings of digits and numbers. It aims to understand the influence that these elements can have on our personal life, our choices, our relationships and even our destiny.
Numerology is based on the belief that each number has a specific energy that can be used to understand people, their characteristics, their strengths and their weak essences. Numbers are considered keys to decoding the language of the universe and gaining information about ourselves and others.
The main concepts of numerology include:

  • Reduction: this technique consists of assigning a unique number to a person by adding the digits of a date, a name or an event.
  • Number cycles: These cycles are series of numbers that repeat in a person’s life and can indicate periods of change, growth or difficulty.

The meaning of numbers: Each number has a unique meaning that can be used to understand a person’s characteristics and tendencies.
Numerologists use various methods to analyze numbers, such as:

  • Analysis of the reduction
  • Reading digital cycles
  • The study of the meanings of numbers

Numerology is often associated with other disciplines such as astrology or tarology. However, it should be noted that numerology is not scientifically recognized and can only be considered a form of divination or spirituality.
Here are some of the main types of numerology:

  • Pythagoria: this discipline studies the geometric properties of numbers and their influence on life.
  • The Chinese system: this system uses a specific set of numbers to analyze a person’s characteristics.
  • Numerical Reduction (or Life Number): this method consists of assigning a unique number to a person by adding the digits of their date of birth.

Examples

Numerical Reduction (or Number of Life)
Example: if an individual’s date of birth is March 12, 1990, we obtain the following result:
1 + 2 + 3 + 9 + 1 + 9 + 0 = 25
2 + 5 = 7
The final number (here: 7) is considered the "life number" or the numerical reduction of the individual. Each number has a unique meaning that can be used to understand a person’s characteristics and tendencies.
The number 1 represents authority, leadership and creativity.
The number 2 symbolizes duality, sharing and cooperation.
The number 3 is linked to communication, expression and creativity.
The number 4 represents stability, security and structure.
The number 5 is associated with change, adventure and freedom.
The number 6 symbolizes harmony, well-being and responsibility.
The number 7 is linked to spirituality, reflection and wisdom.
The number 8 represents abundance, generosity and manifestation.
The number 9 is associated with completion, finishing and transformation.

Digital Cycles Example: if an individual’s life number is 7 (as above), it can have the following numerical cycle:

  • Year 1-2: The cycles of number 1 and number 2 can indicate a period of creation, communication and cooperation.
  • Year 3-4: The cycles of the numbers 3 and 4 can symbolize a period of stability, security and structure.
  • Year 5-6: The cycles of the numbers 5 and 6 can indicate a period of harmony, well-being and responsibility.

Example: If an individual has a date of birth that contains the number 3 (for example, March 13), they can be considered creative, expressive and communicative. He might have talents for art, music or letters.

Pythagoria: this discipline studies the geometric properties of numbers and their influence on life.

The Chinese system: This system uses a specific set of numbers to analyze a person’s characteristics.
