In everyone lies a flame.
A gentle light when it shines, a devastating blaze when it escapes control.
Anger, frustration, aggressive impulse: these forces are neither good nor bad.
They are primordial energies, which we can let burn... or learn to transmute.
He who masters his inner fires does not extinguish the embers: he turns them into a forge where his true strength is shaped.
Anger possesses a unique dynamic: it acts as a force of separation. Like an inner ordeal, it momentarily withdraws the individual from the flow of the world and suspends their relationship with others. Dialogue closes, inner space shrinks. It confers immediate power, an almost burning intensity, but one that arises from a movement of withdrawal rather than openness. This contraction of the self carries within it a tinge of disarray, for any prolonged separation distances one from the vital impulse.
Darker emotions—disappointment, jealousy, the desire to hurt—find in anger an outlet, like a discharge of raw energy. It also offers an illusion of moral rectitude: by judging the other, one restores oneself in one’s own inner tribunal. Thus, anger becomes an instrument of rapid justification, almost seductive in its simplicity. In this, it resembles hatred: a short, intense path, but one that leads away from lucidity and inner reconciliation.
Preparing the Crucible: Avoiding a Blaze
The human heart is an athanor. The more it is charged with emotional impurities, the more the slightest spark causes a fire.
Hygiene of the Soul
-
Night Rest — Sleep is the protective veil under which the storm calms.
-
Right Rhythm — Don’t let the river of stress carry too much debris without stopping.
-
Body Dance — Movement, whether walking, fighting, or dancing, releases tension and rebalances the Fire element. Stop drinking alcohol.
Liberating Verb
-
Preventive Confession — Say it before the jar overflows.
-
Sacred Scripture — Write down on paper what weighs, to extract it from the invisible sphere and freeze it in matter.
Conscious vigilance
-
Observe the figures, places, and situations that arouse anger.
-
Prepare, like a strategist, the gestures and words that will disarm the moment.
When the Fire Rises
There is a threshold, imperceptible but real, where anger can still be tamed. At that moment, inner discipline becomes a ritual.
Breaking the Thread
Leaving the stage. Even a simple "We’ll come back to this later" is an act of self-authority.
Alchemical Breath
Inhale for 4 counts, exhale for 6 counts, five or six cycles. This breath reverses the flow and calms the forge.
Earthly Anchoring
Feel the weight of your body, the pressure of your feet on the earth, or hold a talisman to remind your soul that it is greater than the moment.
Mind Diversion
Count backward, recite an ancient text, mentally resonate a chant: saturate your consciousness to break the wave.
After the Crossing
Once the wave has passed, it may be wise to return to the inner battlefield:
-
What was the spark?
-
Were old embers already smoldering?
-
What walls should we reinforce for next time?
If the fire becomes uncontrollable, threatening others or oneself, the right path is to seek a guide—therapist, doctor, sage— because asking for help is an act of mastery, not weakness.
The Emergency Ritual: 5–4–3–2–1
A protective seal to tame the emotional surge in less than a breath.
-
Stop gesture — freeze, step back, or sit down.
-
Breath 4–6 — Inhale for 4 counts, exhale for 6 counts, two cycles.
-
Sensory Anchoring:
-
5 visions present
-
4 textures at hand
-
3 floating sounds
-
2 scents
-
1 favorite flavor or memory
-
- Protective Mantra — repeat: "The flame belongs to me, it does not devour me" or a personal phrase.
- Release Gesture — clench then open your fists, stretch your spine, release your shoulders.
Inner violence is not an enemy: it is a wild divinity to which we offer, through discipline and conscience, a sanctuary rather than a field of ruins.
Lightning Ritual: The 3 Seals
-
Stop — Immobilize the body, stop the gesture.
-
Breath — Inhale for 4 counts, exhale for 6 counts, once only.
-
Grounding + Mantra — Touch an object or the ground and mentally whisper:
"I hold the flame. It obeys me."
