Jean Dubuis - “Neither Guru nor Master…”

Jean Dubuis was born on April 29, 1919, in Vauciennes (Oise) and died in 2010.
From a very young age, he was intrigued by the place of humankind within the universe.

He sought to understand the laws that structure these two worlds—the microcosm and the macrocosm—and the mechanisms that drive them.
This writer and teacher was known for his work in the fields of alchemy, spirituality, and esotericism.
He founded "Hermetic Philosophy," a school for teaching alchemy and spirituality.
Jean Dubuis studied alchemy with Fulcanelli, a famous 20th-century French alchemist.
He then founded the "Alchemical Society of France" in 1979, which published books and courses on alchemy and spirituality.
Jean Dubuis was an influential thinker in the field of esotericism and spirituality.
His work contributed to reintroduced alchemy into modern esoteric thought and inspired many practitioners of alchemy and spirituality.

Dubuis also took on the motto of the Buddha Gauthama:
Do not believe in something because you were shown
the written testimony of some ancient sage.

Do not believe on the authority of Masters or Priests.

Believe that which is in accordance with your own experience,
and after a thorough study satisfies your reason and tends towards your good.

That you can accept as true and that will transform your life.
